For IFAT 2025 – International Fair for Water, Sewage, Drainage and Waste Recovery Solutions<\/strong>, Acqua Expert\u2019s<\/strong> technological innovation for the sector is the Respir\u00f4metro, an equipment that online measures the oxygen consumption of bacteria within biological wastewater treatment plants, as well as BOD levels, nitrification, denitrification, and toxicity. “The Respir\u00f4metro has two algorithms: SICTOX and SICAIR. The first links toxicity results to the bypass pump at the entrance of the biological treatment,” explains F\u00e1varo.”In this way, it is possible to separate the toxic effluent so that the bacteria in the system are not harmed. With SICAIR, which is connected to the air blowers, we can regulate the exact amount of oxygen needed for the bacteria to consume organic matter and other substances, such as ammoniacal nitrogen,” emphasizes F\u00e1varo. <\/p>\n

Due to its precise oxygen control, the executive emphasizes that the Respir\u00f4metro can generate savings of up to 50% in energy costs for biological wastewater treatment plants, as the system adjusts the air dosage to exactly what the microorganisms need. <\/p>\n\n

Acqua Expert<\/strong> also offers personalized training, consulting, and advisory services designed to guide the proper management of effluents, allowing clients to focus on their core operations. “Our training program is our flagship. We have two categories: Activated Sludge Operation and Activated Sludge Microbiology. The training can be offered in two formats, in-person and online. In the online format, the classes are recorded, and students have 24\/7 access for 3 months to watch the lessons,” highlights F\u00e1varo. <\/p>\n\n
