Hidro Solo stands out with innovation in Water Treatment

Hidrosolo

The company showcases groundbreaking solutions in the sanitation sector and shares its expectations for IFAT 2025.

Founded in 1981, Hidro Solo has built a solid reputation in the water treatment sector, establishing itself as a key reference in irrigation and sanitation. Initially created to provide advanced technological solutions for the agricultural industry, the company has since expanded its portfolio to include water treatment equipment. Today, Hidro Solo serves both domestic and international markets, standing out for the innovation and efficiency of its products, such as sand filters and drainage systems, achieving exceptional results across various industries.

highlight of Hidro Solo’s product range is the PLUVITEC BLOCK, an exclusive technology developed over the past 15 years that enhances the structure of sand filters in water treatment plants. This technology replaces outdated systems, offering advantages such as reducing the amount of gravel required and increasing the thickness of the filtering sand. A demonstration of PLUVITEC BLOCK MASTER is available at this link.

Flavio Alcântra, director of Hidro Solo, states, “The PLUVITEC Block was developed by Hidro Solo to address the limitations of traditional drainage systems in sand filters. Recognizing that technologies available on the market, such as concrete structures and pyramid-shaped slabs, were outdated and not as efficient, we invested in the development of a solution that would offer a better performance and reduce operational costs. The patent for the PLUVITEC Block reflects our commitment to innovation and delivering superior results in water treatment, providing a more robust, flexible, and easy-to-install drainage system”.

There are two models for the PLUVITEC Block: standard and master. Together with Pluvitec filter nozzles, they form the confined stream bottom structure for sand filters in water treatment plants. In recent years, the technology has expanded, being installed at sanitation companies in key regions across Brazil, including the cities of Campinas, Taubaté, Barretos and Campos do Jordão in São Paulo State; Rio das Ostras and Macaé in Rio de Janeiro State; as well as other states in the South and Northeast region of the country. In total, over 3 million people are using treated water through our technology, with more than 14,000 square meters of sand filters utilizing the Hidro Solo solution.

New Products

Hidro Solo also offers Disc Filtration Systems, designed to remove suspended solids and to be used in various stages of the wastewater treatment process. These products are easy to install and utilize automatic disc filters and 3-way valves. Their key differentiator is the activation of a piston on top of the disc filter that expands, allowing for efficient backwashing without interrupting the filtration process. This means that, while one filter backwashes, the others continue filtering, maintaining a high flow rate of water.

With a robust portfolio, the company stands out in the domestic market for its expertise and commitment to quality. Major water treatment and sanitation companies across Brazil (such as Sabesp, Sanasa e BRK) already use Hidro Solo’s systems, providing the efficiency of its products. Technical reports from these organizations show that the PLUEVITEC Block can reduce installation and maintenance costs up to 50% compared to traditional technologies, while also improving filtration efficiency.

As for 2025, Hidro Solo plans to expand its operations and views IFAT as a key business catalyst. “Our goal is to strengthen our position as a leader in the development of sustainable sanitation solutions, while maintaining the commitment to innovation and quality that has always defined us”, explains Flávio Alcântara.

IFAT Brasil – International Fair for Water, Sewage, Drainage and Waste Recovery Solutions – is a strategic platform for Hidro Solo. During the last edition, the company had the opportunity to showcase its products and network with potential clients from the Americas. Following the success of the Hidro Solo booth at IFAT Brasil, the company joined the delegation to IFAT Worldwide, held in Munich, Germany, in May. Represented by director Flávio Alcântara, the brand presented products and technologies developed locally, with a focus on the global expansion of water and waste treatment solutions.
