Luiz Felipe Cerceau Guimarães

Luiz Felipe Cerceau Guimarães, Chemical Engineer and Master in Chemical Engineering from UFMG, holds a postgraduate degree in Petrochemical Processing from UFF, an MBA in Business Strategy from São Paulo Business School, and an international certification from Harvard Business School in proficiency in Accounting, Business Analysis, and Economics. Professionally, he worked at Chemtech – A Siemens Company (a multidisciplinary engineering firm) as a process engineer and business development engineer focused on thermal projects. He later joined Veolia as a Business Development Manager for public and private sanitation projects. He also worked at De Nora leading the commercial team for sanitation solutions and technologies. Currently, he is at Veolia as Business Development Manager for waste recovery, water/wastewater treatment, and energy efficiency solutions for the industrial sector.

Alfredo de Matos has been leading Ecolab in Brazil since July 2024, after 23 years leading industrial businesses across multiple industries in Latin America and globally, at companies like Cytec, General Electric, Voith, Danaher and Veralto. Most recently, He served as President for Latin America at Veralto Corporation, a Danaher spin-off. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish, and German, holds a degree in chemical engineering from USP, University of São Paulo University (Brazil), an MBA from Harvard Business School (USA), and postgraduate degrees in business administration and leadership from Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Brazil, IMD (Switzerland), and Georgia Tech (USA)

Fredrick Royan is the Global Practice Area Leader of the Sustainability and Circular Economy practice at Frost & Sullivan. He is the current Smart Water Network (SWAN) Council Chair and has been analysing the global water market for over 20 years. Fredrick led the launch of the Smart Water Program in 2010 and has since focused on shaping the Global Water Research Program around digital transformation and together with his team of analysts has published authoritative reports on Smart Water Grid and related segments. He has a Masters in Environmental Protection and Management from the University of Edinburgh secured as a Centenary Chevening Scholar and has also been conferred the Frost & Sullivan Fellowship.

A biologist with over 20 years of experience, Ana Luiza Fávaro is a national reference in activated sludge microbiology and ecotoxicological studies applied to industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. As co-founder and CEO of Acqua Expert, she enhanced her expertise under the renowned Dr. David Jenkins, gaining deep knowledge in the identification and monitoring of microbial communities in treatment plants. Ana specializes in microscopic analyses, ecotoxicological assessments, and the application of respirometry equipment—essential tools for accurately diagnosing the health status of microorganisms and optimizing biological processes. Recognized for promoting technical training, she pioneered the first advanced online course in activated sludge microbiology in Brazil, democratizing access to technical knowledge for wastewater treatment plant operators and managers across the country. Her career is marked by scientific rigor and a constant pursuit of quality in biological control processes, contributing significantly to water circularity and sustainability within Latin American industries.
